John French calf roped in the 1950’s and 1960’s on his mares
Lucky Youlanda and Bobbie Socks. Lucky
Youlanda was the dam of halter point earner

Lucky Cowan by Texas Dan Fe. Today at age 70 John still
rides at branding time but recently lost his gelding, Dandy, a
great, great, great , great, great grandson of
Peter Harmon and the appendix mares.

John’s daughter , Gina, trains her own horses and is currently
showing her gelding , Sonny Go Deuce, by Imperial Irish Pride.

Her son Ryan was 1998 Montana
State High School Rodeo finals qualifier short go calf roping
and team roping. He was 1999 Montana
State High School Rodeo Finalist in short go calf roping and
team roping finishing 7th calf roping and year
end 9th in team roping qualifying for Silver State International
Rodeo Fallon , Nevada.

From 2000 to 2003 Ryan was on the College Rodeo Team for
Northwest College at Powell, Wyoming. He was regional
Finalist Bozeman, Montana in both calf roping and team roping.
Gina’s second son, Matt, is 2002 - 2005
Montana State High School Rodeo qualifier in calf roping and
team roping. Matt was high school rodeo
All - Around Cowboy winning an saddle at both Forsyth and Miles
City, Montana. He is currently listed
in the 2005 High School State standings 3rd calf roping, 6th
team roping and 4th all-around cowboy.

He was a qualifier in team roping and calf roping for the 2005
National High School Rodeo finals at
Gillette, Wyoming . The boys ride three ONO rope horses
including the performing and money earning
mare , JP Ginger Snap by French Sabre out of a Sir Beat Daughter
Two Beat Ginger; Doc Marten by Sir
Cool Skip out of ONO mare Hoping For Roses and Irish Flair by
Imperial Irish Pride out ONO mare
Flairs Foxy Racer.

JP Ginger Snap is a direct descendant of Peter Harmon and ONOs
Mischief. Gina and
her husband Bill Asay ranch and farm near Forsyth, Montana. In
1969, at the age of 9, son Jack showed
his mare Alouette Babe by Babe Wheat and out of a Peter Harmon
daughter for a 2nd place out of 10 youth
mares at a Williston, North Dakota show.

Daughter Suzanne showed in youth and rode GoGo Boots , a
French Sabre daughter, to win a junior rodeo Queen contest in
Miles City, Montana. Son Pat showed
Sabretta Twist, a French Sabre daughter, to win 4-H grand
championship in 1980. . Son Jim showed
French Mischief , a French Sabre daughter , in youth. Jim is a
money and saddle winning team roper.

He ranches near Pompeys Pillar, Montana. His children Ben and
Elizabeth are competing in rodeos.

Ten year old Ben was 2004 Bridger, Montana little Buckaroo All
Around Champion cowboy.

Five year old Elizabeth won the pole bending at the same rodeo.
John’s son Glen showed point earning mare Classy
Scooty, by Classy jr out of a Texas Dan Fe daughter and point
earning mare GoGo Boots, by French
Sabre out of a Babe Wheat daughter to earn numerous
youth all round championships.
